Welcome to the
Online Starter Trainer
Dear Speedskating friends all over the world!
Welcome to the new online Starter Trainer Web Application. With this tool, all Speed Skating Starters can practice its intervals during the starting procedure by watching short sequences from past speedskating competitions and marking the timing for starting and stopping the starting interval.
As there is no single absolut currect solution, the performance of each starter is compared to the benchmark of all other starters using this training tool.
Just feel free to try it!
Step 1: Go to the start!
Just press Start Training Session in the menu bar to GO TO THE START!
Step 2: Watch the video
You can watch short videos of different races. You can replay all the videos.
Step 3: Mark your timing for starting and stopping the interval
You can start/stop the video or the stop watch just by clicking the video.
There are three different mode to practice the starting procedures:
- Mode 1: Just watch the videos any enter your comments
- Mode 2: Watch the videos and click on the video to mark the start- and endpoint of the interval.... decide yourself when the interval starts and when the shoot should come ... the skaters will wait until you shoot!
- Mode 3: Watch the videos and click on the video to mark the start- and endpoint of the interval.... and benchmark the real starter! If you make a mistake, just replay the video and repeat the starting procedure as often as you want.
Step 4: Compare your Results with the benchmark of all starters
The interval you stopped is shown and you can compare your timing with the average of all the starters using this starter trainer.
You can also write some comments on the quality of the start and wether you can see a false start.
Step 5: Save your results and continue with the next video
Press the button "Save / Next Video >>" to write your results to the database and continue with the next video.
